Susan Davenport Austin is Vice Chairman of Sheridan Broadcasting Corporation and currently serves on the boards of Broadcast Music, Inc. (BMI) (Presiding Director), the Prudential Variable Annuities Funds (i.e., Advanced Series Trust, The Prudential Series Fund and Prudential’s Gibraltar Fund), Hubbard Radio, LLC, and the MacDowell Colony (President). Prior board experience includes the National Association of Broadcasters, the National Association of Broadcasters Education Foundation, and The Stanford Business School Alumni Association.
Previously, Ms. Austin was Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of Sheridan Broadcasting Corporation and President of the Sheridan Gospel Network. Prior to joining Sheridan in 2002, Ms. Austin spent 10 years in investment banking, specializing in telecommunications and media finance. She was a Vice President in the Communications, Media and Entertainment group at Goldman, Sachs & Co responsible for managing certain client relationships and advising clients in the exploration of their strategic growth alternatives and financing opportunities. She also managed the execution of financing and M&A transactions. Select transactions include NTT DoCoMo’s $10 billion investment into AT&T Wireless and Emmis Communications’ $300 million public debt financing. Prior to Goldman Sachs, she worked for Bear, Stearns & Co. and Salomon Brothers Incon multiple financing and mergers and acquisitions assignments collectively worth over $12 billion. She began her career as a Financial Analyst with Citicorp in 1989.
Ms. Austin earned her AB in Mathematics from Harvard University and MBA from Stanford University Graduate School of Business.
